The Dahlgren Heritage Museum is pleased to announce its next STEM session for local 4th to 6th graders (limited to the first 15 students who register). Led by Ms. Erica Borgers, the session will explore the dynamic world of biofilms—complex, microscopic ecosystems that impact health, industry, maritime systems, and everyday life. Through hands-on demonstrations and visual inquiry, students will investigate how microorganisms adhere to surfaces, communicate, and create protective slime layers.
Parents/guardians are welcome to wait at the museum or to return for pickup at 7:30 p.m. Adults are asked to sign a consent form for photos to be used by the museum.
Admission is free for members' families. If you are a member, email your name, your student's name, grade/age, and contact email to: Stummkind@yahoo.com
If you are not a member, you can join for $35 at https://www.dahlgrenmuseum.org/become-a-member. If you don't want to become a member, that's okay: you can still register for this event for $15 per student at: https://www.dahlgrenmuseum.org/event-details/stem-event-biofilms
