July is the month for new exhibits at the Dahlgren Heritage Museum!
One of our most prominent, featured artifacts is a propeller. What’s the story behind that propeller? View the Naval Aviation Exhibit, designed by Haley Drake, to find out more about it and about aviation history made at the Dahlgren naval base.
Want to learn about our next featured pioneer of the 20th century – who he was and what he did for the base? View the exhibit about Dr. Russell H. Lyddane, designed by Gillian Both. To formally celebrate the opening of this exhibit, on July 18th, from 4:30-6:00 pm, we will hold a reception and forum at the UMW Dahlgren Campus with a panel of speakers who knew Dr. Lyddane personally. We hope that you will join us! You can find out more details about the forum at: https://www.dahlgrenmuseum.org/events-calendar
You can visit the exhibits at the museum itself, 3540 James Madison Hwy., King George, VA on Wednesdays through Sundays, 10 am to 4 pm. We hope to see you there!
